Olympics: Kromowidjojo takes sprint gold in 50m freestyle
London, Aug 5 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands won the 50 meters freestyle gold in the pool Saturday, adding to the 100 meters title she won Thursday.
Kromowidjojo set a new Olympic record of 24.05 seconds for gold, beating Aliaksandra Herasimenia of Belarus, 24.39 seconds. Marleen Veldhuis of the Netherlands won bronze with 24.39.
