Boy kills brother with neighbour’s gun in US
Washington, June 4 (IANS) An eight-year-old boy accidentally shot his 11-year-old brother in the head while the two were playing with a neighbour’s gun in a wooded area in the US.
The accident took place during the weekend in Pylesville, Maryland, the Daily Mail reported.
Police responded to a call from the siblings’ grandmother, who said her older grandson has been shot.
The boy died en route to a helicopter that was to transport him to a hospital.
Investigators said the boys apparently had been helping an elderly neighbour when they came across a handgun stored in a secure location, which they took with them.
No charges have been filed against the boy, police said.
The eight-year-old boy was living with his four-year-old sister and their grandparents, while his brother lived with their other set of grandparents. The children’s parents are both currently in prison.
